How the scanner works
A50 Check provides general information about the EU AI Act. It is not legal advice. Consult a qualified lawyer for your specific situation.
What we scan
Up to four publicly accessible pages of your site (home, contact, about, pricing), fetched once with a 10-second timeout per page. We fetch HTML only — we do not execute JavaScript, log in, or interact with your site beyond a plain page request.
What we check
Chatbot disclosure (Art. 50(1))
How: We look for known chat widget and AI-bot platform signatures: Intercom, Crisp, Tidio, Drift, Zendesk, HubSpot Conversations, Freshchat, Chatbase, SiteGPT, Voiceflow, Botpress, Landbot, direct references to LLM APIs, and chat-labeled interface elements.
General obligation: If your site offers an AI chat interface to EU users, Article 50(1) generally requires telling people they are interacting with AI — unless it is obvious from context.
AI voice / call handling (Art. 50(1))
How: We check for voice-agent platforms (Vapi, Retell, Bland.ai, ElevenLabs, PlayHT, Cartesia) and call/voice-labelled interactive elements.
General obligation: If calls or voice interactions are handled by AI, callers must generally be informed.
Synthetic content labelling (Art. 50(2))
How: We look for AI media generators and markers: HeyGen, Synthesia, D-ID, Runway, Sora/Veo/Kling references, and generator meta tags indicating AI tooling.
General obligation: AI-generated or manipulated image/audio/video content generally must be marked in a machine-readable way so it can be detected as AI-generated.
What we cannot see (limits)
- Server-side AI usage invisible in page HTML
- Widgets loaded dynamically after initial page load
- Mobile apps, email flows, or offline systems
- Anything behind login or cookie walls
- We may flag sites that merely reference AI tools without deploying them — every finding should be verified by you
A “low” result means our checks found nothing — it is not evidence that your site complies with any law.
